At one time, I also put 7 in addition to XP. Then I realized that I do not need 7, it takes up space, I want to get rid of it. But the trouble is, by simply formatting the disk from 7 last time I got rid of not only it, but I could not restore XP at all, somewhere some info was stored on that disk, such as boot.ini
. I searched the Internet, but I didn’t find a normal answer. The message about the choice of the axis can be removed, but it is still unpleasant to think that there is something else unnecessary on the disk. Tell me who solved this issue like this, otherwise I’m afraid of losing XP, there are a lot of programs on it, etc.

If 7 is installed on another disk (partition), then feel free to format it, then boot from the XP installation disk (as during installation). When the message "press R to restore" appears, you click and get into the recovery console. You type fixboot on the keyboard, press "enter". After executing the command, type fixmbr - "input". At the end, type exit - the computer will reboot. It helped me in a similar situation.
