Hello. The question is a little off topic, but maybe someone knows. There was a problem. On Ubuntu 10.04, memory began to disappear. I delete a bunch of files to get at least a little space, but the memory does not increase. 0 bytes available. There is an assumption that the file manager incorrectly considers memory. And maybe what application ottyapal so much. In general, how can this be traced or corrected? thank

  • Yes, everything remained the same. Removed the virtual Windows, there was 10 GB of space. And when I deleted 1.5 GB movies, there was no reaction. What can be the case, I do not know - carapuz

You can see which folders and files take up a lot of space with programs like ncdu or gdmap

Apparently some updates can not normally sit down and it generates new and new folders. Look in the section Home-User. Click CTRl + H (it seems like this: show hidden folders). Replace each folder and see what weighs a lot. I had this problem under Debian. Then I installed some kind of server, it seems there was no LAMP server. But the problem was solved only through manual removal.

Something in that style was in my linux mint (which is based on ubuntu). I just solved this problem - I found the 'basket' tab in the file manager and cleaned everything that was there
