I was advised at http://www.linux.org.ru/forum/admin/8726100?lastmod=1358421944338#comment-8731504 to use gmake instead of make to install openssh . Installing openssh takes place in 3 steps:

 ./configure make make install

So, I accordingly had a question: what do I need besides installing gmake to additionally use gmake when installing openssh , namely whether it is necessary to change make in gmake in the 3 commands listed above (I don’t know how gnu make is called - by command make or gmake ), do you need to set the path to gmake in $PATH ? And if you need to use the make to invoke gmake when installing openssh , how will linux determine whether I am invoking an old make program or a new installed gnu make ?

PS @avp here /volumes/openssh-6.1p1/Makefile

  • @avp do you mean man ssh ? - ivan89
  • @ ivan31, actually I was talking about sshd, but this man obviously also needs to be read, like most of the SEE ALSO in them. See Privilege separation user sshd does not exist? IMHO, this suggests that ssh users do not like the settings. What they should be , where and how something should be prescribed, I do not know. - avp
  • @avp, I restored the snapshot and executed the root @ one command: / usr / local / bin # ./ssh-keygen -t dsa -f / usr / local / etc / ssh_host_dsa_key -N "" Initially issued Segmentation Fault (core dumped) Then I repeated this command and it worked fine, and then executed the root @ one command: / usr / local / bin # echo $? to which I received the return code root @ one: 0 And as for the problem Privilege separation user sshd does not exist, I entered it into google and returned citi.umich.edu/u/provos/ssh/privsep-faq.html from one of the links. - ivan89
  • @avp, I entered it into google and returned citi.umich.edu/u/provos/ssh/privsep-faq.html to one of the links, only I don’t know if the solution proposed there would prevent the hadoop cluster from hadoop . - ivan89
  • @ ivan31, I didn’t know exactly the problems of hadoop, but I don’t think that having sshd and sshd can hinder someone. By the way, about a similar problem with the assembly and Segmentation Fault you can read here - avp

@ ivan31 , IMHO of

 /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_key already exists, skipping. sh: line 9: 19705: Memory fault(coredump) *** Signal 11 - core dumped The following command caused the error: if [ -z "" ] ; then \ if [ -f "/usr/local/etc/ssh_host_key" ] ; then \ echo "/usr/local/etc/ssh_host_key already exists, skipping." ; \ else \ ./ssh-keygen -t rsa1 -f /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_key -N "" ; \ fi ; \ if [ -f /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key ] ; then \ echo "/usr/local/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key already exists, skipping." ; \ else \ ./ssh-keygen -t dsa -f /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key -N "" ; \ fi ; \ ....

it does not follow at all that you need to change make.

Falls inside sh

I would firstly see if there is a file /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key (we see the text of the previous check

 /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_key already exists, skipping.

and that is all. Further error), and then launched by hand

 ./ssh-keygen -t dsa -f /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key -N ""

and looked at the return code, etc.

  • @avp, there is no /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key . - ivan89
  • @avp, root @ one command: / usr / local / bin # ./ssh-keygen - t dsa -f / usr / local / etc / ssh_host_dsa_key -N "" did not issue anything and the root @ one prompt was displayed: / usr / local / bin # - ivan89
  • Well, what is the result code? echo $? Although it is too late to find out. File /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key appeared? Try make again. Will pass or not. If not, where and with what diagnosis? - avp
  • @avp, what kind of result code are you talking about? To get the result code, I need to execute ./ssh-keygen - t dsa -f /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key -N "" or I need to run the echo $./ssh-keygen - t dsa -f /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key -N "" command echo $./ssh-keygen - t dsa -f /usr/local/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key -N "" (which command you need to run to get the result code, I can do this by restoring a snapshot of the virtual machine and reinstalling openssh (because the current snapshot is different by this), and then after installation I can get the result code of the command you specify)? - ivan89
  • I meant the result of ssh-keygen i. ssh-keygen ... echo $? echo will print the ssh-keygen termination code. I don’t think there’s any point in going so deeply in order to roll back the VM. You got the file (/ usr / local / etc / ssh_host_dsa_key)? If so, run make more times. I have to say something like ... already exists, skipping. And see what happens next. In the end, some part of the Makefile can be done with your hands, then you can throw away the “bad” pieces and execute the rest. After all, your goal is to install this openssh-6.1? - avp

Версию make можно узнать запуском команды с параметром --version:

 make --version

Для GNU-версии команды make вывод команды должен содержать строчку GNU Make 3.82

  • @dred, на make --version выдало make: Warning: Ignoring DistributedMake -v option make: Warning: Ignoring DistributedMake -o option make: Fatal error: No dmake output dir argument after -o flag У меня операционная система Nexenta - nexenta.com/corp , ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nexenta_OS .ivan89
