I have linux on my computer, that is, it is not broken into disks, meaning c, d, etc. I run from MS-DOS disk, by default, of course, A:>

How can I save edit files or at least view them in a computer directory?

If this is an MS-DOS version <4 then there was edlin line editor, if the type version is> = 4, that is, the full-screen editor is EDIT.

  • Well, I know this when I click Save or Save As, that is, only A, R, B disks, but this is actually one disk - bootable - Semyon Savenko

  • Oh, I'm afraid in any way. Under Linux, the ext2 / ext3 file system is very likely, and DOS has problems with it :) he doesn’t know it unless you install it as a driver. If you want to edit the files, it is better to download a small distribution of the link, write it on a USB flash drive or live cd and edit it. - KoVadim

if you need to start DOS programs from under Linux, then DOSBox has been around for a long time already for this purpose
the fact that you do not see the usual - C, D, E - it does not mean that they are not there :) sections in Linux are called differently and are tied to folders. Typically, such a breakdown-binding is carried out at the stage of installing the OS, but you can repartition later.

@deivan that you do not see the usual - C, D, E - that does not mean that they are not there :) No, it just means that this fool is not there. About fourteen years ago, I went to digicrime.com. He warned - if you hover over this link, I will distort section C :. And how poor netscape tried to find C: on the hard drive ... - alexlz
  • it's hard for me to imagine what you mean by foolishness, but I meant sections on the disk that are referred to in nix slightly differently than capital single letters from the beginning of the Latin alphabet - deivan_
  • Here is the designation of sections in capital letters I call foolishness. And these letters can change, they can (in the disk manager) be fixed, and it turns out to be a complete mess (And about net use and subst is generally better not to remember) - alexlz
  • @ Semyon Savenko Shibko informative comment. But they are not clearer than the question "linux costs, but it is not broken on disks." (If you run fdisk, Linux, it is unlikely, although it is possible, you will see fewer than two partitions: ext2 / ext3 and swap). If you need a driver to read from under the DOS of these sections, then you should ask (for example, askvg.com/… , though there are Windows). But it sounds like a question at a gas station: "Where is the hay, then?" - alexlz
