Until recently, I was independently engaged in the development of web applications on the Yii-framework, as well as in the creation and layout of design. Now the work on creating templates is performed by the designer, who had no previous experience with this framework, and indeed in writing scripts. In this regard, the question is: are there any solutions to facilitate the process of implementing templates on Yii applications? Or maybe there are some alternatives to this framework in which the designer would not have to write the scripts himself?

  • In any case, he will have to grasp the "variables" and cycles, at least. This applies to any template engines. if he rests - he must be driven. - zb '22
  • it seems like you can screw Twig in yii, its syntax is simple and the designator can figure it out :) - digi

@eicto, if you force the designer to introduce templates, you need to drive - VasyOk
  • @eicto, @digi, yes, I thought about using a template engine. But I do not think that its use will be justified in each project just to make it easier to type out. However, thanks for the offer. - xphoenyx
  • @VasyOk is not a designer, but a layout maker. The role of which, as I understand it, is performed by the designer. If he cannot navigate in the templates, then he will have an appropriate layout. - zb '

Maybe let the designer draws better, make-up his design let the coder, by the way, he should know what JS is and can implement lightweight scripts, because for everything else, there are fron-end-developers.

This tuparyly process, when you need to change some kind of crap on the site and the task is sent to the designer ...

I, as a programmer, remember how and what I did here, which variables go to the template and where it is located, did I write a widget for this block or not, or maybe it would? It will always be easier to navigate in all this. Designer here - as a humanities at a construction site.

  • I think we will do that, because mastering programming in order to impose a pattern on Yii is not only meaningful, but also time consuming. Thank you for your reply. - xphoenyx
