I am going to study node.js, doing the project with use of websocket. Tell me where it is better to read about these technologies and which libraries should be used on the server and client (preferably jQuery)?

Ilya Kantor has a free screencast on Node.js. Start learning with him. http://learn.javascript.ru/nodejs-screencast
- By the way, the screencast is very similar to the contents of the book to which I gave the link above) - cyber_ua

At the moment I am reading this book: Node.js Developing server-side web applications in JavaScript , for a start, to understand the node and npm will do. Why jQuery right away?jQuery is not a panacea, and you need to understand whether this library or its equivalent or framework as angularjs , but first of all you need to understand how the library is organized.
