Dear HashCode members, I would be very interested to learn about your experience using the following tools used for analytics of mobile applications:

  1. TestFlight / FlightPath
  2. Flurry analytics
  3. HockeyApp
  4. Google analytics
  5. Your option, which I do not know

I’m interested in everything related to the word analyst, I’m interested in analytics for both phases: testing and production, I’m interested in what you measure and advise you to measure personally - tips, recommendations, good results and so on.

Also, as I do this in all my other questions, I would like to emphasize that I would be grateful for detailed answers containing real experience - for example, you would prefer one of the tools instead of the other, or would not recommend using this or that, in a word "live" experience!

And just like in all my other questions, I promise to publish my own answer when I decide that I am mature enough to make it qualitative.

PS Despite the fact that my platform is Apple / iOS, I will be very happy to hear the opinions of representatives of any platforms.

Thank.

Until I have clearly understood the analytics myself, I’ll just gradually form a list of tools for analytics:

  1. TestFlight / Flightpath
  2. Flurry analytics
  3. HockeyApp
  4. Google analytics
  5. Countly

News about analytics:

February 21, 2014 - TestFlight Owner Burstly Acquired By Apple and Apple Buys TestFlight, Android Support Discontinued .

  • @Gorets, many people use it for the delivery of intermediate assemblies, and they are focused on mobile platforms, and therefore less universal, which in turn entails more features. @Stanislaw, on the current project we will use just TestFlight for analytics, so I can share my experience, but a little later. - AlexDenisov

We tried TestLight - not at all, because it is inconvenient to watch the statistics, there is only a step-by-step description of events, they still have FlightPath , which seems to be more accurate for these needs, but it is in a closed beta ...

We tried Google Anal ytics - it seemed too monstrous, we almost needed an engineer to collect stats, i.e. not very friendly to customer.

Now we stopped at MixPanel , it looks juicy, but again we only try)

  • Can you please clarify why TestFlight was not what you want? - Stanislav Pankevich
  • @Stanislaw, updated the answer - AlexDenisov

We used TestFlight earlier for distribution of builds and crash reports, everything is simple and convenient. But about a month ago, they switched to Ubertesters - http://ubertesters.com/ , because besides everything that TF gives, they still provide a lot of tools for organizing the beta testing process - for example, you can submit bugs directly from your mobile device full info and screenshots, import bugs into a third-party bug tracker, you can also record sessions of each tester. In general, a very convenient service with a mass of useful features. Head and shoulders above the rest of the products on the market. And now the news about the termination of support for Android TF, so we are not particularly upset)

  • Victoria, thanks for the reply. Very interesting. - Stanislav Pankevich
  • Very similar to the advertising post, but thanks :) - AlexDenisov February
  • All the way, probably already aware that Apple sort of acquired TestFlight? (I threw a couple of links into my question as “news”) - Stanislav Pankevich
