Hello, you need to generally make a copy of the site on WordPress and upload it to a separate domain.

He made a copy on the domain, he created a separate database and connected it (imported the old one into it), but here’s the question:

  1. when you try to enter the admin area, go to the main site (from which you made a copy)
  2. They advised to replace in the database the links to the old site with new links, did not help.

So, how do I solve this problem? what will you tell?
Thank.

    Just yesterday I did the same)

    • To enter the admin area, it’s enough to change the link to the new site in the Option table (as I remember) in the database.
    • In addition, your WordPress must have connection settings for the new database in the configs (i.e., it is possible that the new site opens the old database)
    • If the above did not help, maybe something has been cached by you)

    Additional problems you may have:

    • In the articles, the link to the pictures will link to the old site;
    • Menus will link to the old site;
    • It is necessary to rearrange the plugins and check the settings.
    • Thank. Although it is very strange, because yesterday I did the same and nothing worked for me) Well, okay;) - Syasaa
    • how did you duplicate the site? stupidly copied all the folders? I just put WP first, drove it through the installer, drove all the files that weren't there, imported the database, changed the links into the database, and later changed the links in the admin area. those. I think you have a problem in the settings for connecting to the database) - IVsevolod
