At the university, they started going through MySQL and were given the task of writing their own database and graphical interface to it. The base is given, I’m blind, but I don’t really imagine how to add a graphical interface to this. To create all this, we were allowed to use any means and I decided to choose java and MySQL. So where to start? Please advise.

Read about Swing on the part of creating a UI and about JDBC, as a means of working with the database.

Spring roo. It allows to generate ui based on the schema database. Very quickly and you can see about how it is usually done in the spring.
