There is a machine with limited physical access. I can not use disks / flash drives / diskettes. It is necessary to get the root password. The method with rw init / bin / bash will not work, because there is a password on the hornbeam. Hornbeam version 0.97. Worth openSUSE 11. What are the suggestions?

The easiest way to get root access is single-user mode. Write in the loader key -s and voila! Perform any actions with the system. If the GRUB has a password, then the only real way is to escalate the rights (i.e., you need to look for the vulnerable service of the operating system and hack it).

The simplest thing is to ask the password of the one who set the system and asked this password. And most likely it is impossible to do this, it's root ... Well, you can still google on resetting a password in Linux ...
ZY And I have never required a password for a flash drive, only for system settings ... It can be seen that you have a user with minimal privileges ...
