So, the essence of the problem. I have a sandbox with linux scientific 6.1. I want to stick there xen.

On a wikipedia page this is:

Scientific Linux can be used to create the working environment of a user, developer, administrator. The distribution includes components to support Xen virtualization. The distribution includes a complete set of software components for the organization of the server infrastructure for both the internal network and the Internet.

A Google request led here: Xen on Scientific Linux Howto .

Began to put on this mana.

If you demolish initscripts (~ 600 mb), then almost everything stops working in the system. Help me please. Unclear information in the internet did not find.

    In Scientific manager packages Yum:

yum list |moreyum list |grep xenyum install kernel-xen xen etc ...
    • Not everything is so simple)) On grep xen, it only displays "netxen-firmware" to me ... like this. I will still search, if I find it, I will unsubscribe. - tanatonaut
    • Perhaps you need to connect the repository with xen - e_klimin
    • if not, then only one option git om drag xen-source and compile the kernel with xen ohm - e_klimin
    • and even if xen wakes up to be used under the home PC with gui (gnome sneakers) it’s almost impossible to fasten proprietary drava on vidyahu - e_klimin

I don’t know what distribution you use, but the site describes a way for Fedora. In Debian, I would do this:

sudo apt-get updateaptitude search xen - выбираем нужный пакетsudo aptitude install xen(выбранный пакет)
    • Scientific is a distribution kit. Scientific does not have the aptitude command. - tanatonaut
