OS: Windows 7 & xUbuntu 11.10 Voyager

Sound Card: Asus Xonar DS Audio

Sound does not work in xUbuntu. In the sound settings, the sound card Xonar DS (Alsa mixer) is displayed. Channels are selected, all that is possible, everywhere the sound is turned on, but it is not. On Windows, everything works fine. Any idea what the problem might be?

  • I tried to follow the tips listed here - ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1681577о eventually on the 6th paragraph gave the error "ioctl32_new.c: 23:28: fatal error: linux / smp_lock.h: There is no such file or directory compilation is aborted .   • Resolved! Removed pulseaudio left alsamixer and disabled the built-in sound card. I don’t know, of course, what served as a solution, it can all together, can only mute the sound, there is no desire to understand! - naxa
