How to connect to the Internet in Linux Puppy?

The computer is connected to a cable virtual private network via an Ethernet card. The provider specifies the login, password, and address of pptp.xxxxx.ru, which, when used in Windows XP, is entered into the "Computer Name" line of the Connection Wizard.

In Puppy, I tried to connect using the Internet Connection Wizard. In the Connection Wizard message: "Found the eth0 network interface". I tried to connect through the options "local wired network" and "VPN connection via gpptp ...", but to no avail.

In the first case, the tray icon showed the connection setup, but there is no place to specify a login and password. In the second case, in the line "VPN server" indicated the address pptp.xxxxx.ru and further login and password; as a result I received the message: "pptp process was NOT created! ...", etc.

I ask for advice! Yuri Teresh.

    1. NetworkManager used?
    2. if "yes", then go to the connection settings (the connection icon> RightMouse> change connections hangs in the tray);
    3. go to the VPN tab and say "Add", then in the window select the connection type: "Point-to-point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP)", click "Create";
    4. In the new window, configure the connection settings. At the same time, the gateway = pptp.provider.ru, and so on - login, password, etc.

    Naturally, before this, you must have a connection to the provider’s network (meaning the so-called "lokalka").

    If there are no items described above - therefore, some add-ons to NM are not installed; you can install from a disk. But usually with a set with NM they are installed.

    By and large, everything is the same as in Windows: first we establish a connection with the local network of the ProW, and only then, on top of it, the VPN connection (i.e., access to the Internet through the provider's LAN).
