Explain, please, is it fraught with any negative consequences of using 2x2 Gb DDR3 in Windows XP or is it still better (/ is more correct?) To use 2 + 1 Gb?

This is fraught with the fact that you can see a little less (depending on the Motherboard and the system) than the expected 4GB. There were situations when XP saw both 3GB from 4x and 3.5GB from 4x.
If you want to be sure that you will see your 4GB, take a 64-bit XP.
You can use 2x2 Gb DDR3 without problems.
The main thing that on the slats hertzovka was the same.
- Fully agree with Dex - Staiki Kiev
But is Herzovka so important? imkho, that lath, at which frequency is higher, will work on the lowered frequency of other lath. and here to see all 4 Gigabytes yes, it is necessary to put x64. However, as I was told, the increase in performance compared to 3 Gigami can not be seen.
- Each MHz is more expensive, so paying more to get less is not good. Moreover, the gurus advised at one time even to take the same manufacturers from the same series. Small differences in synchronization (CL), etc. could generally disable one of the slats. Now, I think, things are better and the production is better, but as long as you don’t run into yourself, you can do as you please. - Dex
32-bit XP SP3 cannot be made to see 4 GB, but SP2 is possible.
- why so if I don’t change my memory, the only way out is to edit the registry with pens. One parameter changes - google (I don’t remember what to change for memory) - and voila .. - Justicet
- oneDo you mean the / PAE parameter (not only in the registry, but in Boot.ini)? For 32-bit systems in SP2 it works, but not in SP3 (excluded). - avp 1
You will never be forced to see the 32-bit system but to make it work with 4 gigas of RAM ...
