I want to control one keyboard and mouse with two computers, I use synergy, but there is a problem, the computer with Windoy7 (desktop) does not see the connection if you connect it directly via LAN to the computer on Ubuntu, the most amazing thing, I connect the other computer (laptop) with Win7 to Ubuntu perfectly connected, respectively, the problem in Win7 (Desktop), I do not understand what interferes, if you connect the laptop with Win7 and the desktop with Win7, then the network is determined, you cann’t google, you don’t find anything. The difference between the desktop and laptop is VirtualBox on the desktop, -for him? I see no other reasons. What could be the problem?

It is necessary to dig in the direction of the firewall. Synergy, EMNIP, uses port 24800. Theoretically, VBox can also influence, because it adds its own protocol to the stack, but it should not block anything!
- Firewall and Synergy do nothing, sticking a network cable into a computer with Ubuntu and Windows7 (desktop) does not react in any way, writes that the network cable is not connected, and when connecting Ubuntu to another Windows7 on a laptop, it connects to Windows7 (desktop) and Windows7 (laptop) network is idealized (as described in the question). No network connection. Ports are free, running Synergy on Windows7 (laptop) and Windows7 (desktop) works and used the same network cable, it is also in order. - kingNothing
- Well, from this and it was necessary to begin! For the connection "comp" - "comp" you need a crossover cable !!! And the laptop has a network card, apparently more advanced, and she understands where there is reception and transmission! Therefore, on the laptop and a straight cable can work. (I definitely worked on the Asusov netbook!) - areshin

- Well, I did not write about network cards, but about the cable! Perhaps one of the veins is bad or improperly crimped If there is a cable tester - try them to check! - areshin
- Freaked out and connected the Wi-Fi card. Thanks for the help. - kingNothing

Maybe it's better to use the KVM-switch?
Now these broadcasters are worth a penny (two computers with the transfer of sound from each of them) ... At the very same is at work.
