There is a wild script that refreshes the page 5 times per second. On hosting works as it should, on the local computer 5 times slower.

The web server is OpenServer . I installed Ubuntu, a web server with standard settings - it came out quite a bit faster.

Question: is it all about the settings or is there some kind of tricky magic? Can someone suggest what kind of settings or what kind of magic?

Obviously, such an increase in speed depends on the hosting hardware. You do not know its composition?

  • Unfortunately, I did not find it, but this is a virtual hosting and they will not give me much there. Is it really not enough for a normal PC to run a connection script, load a record from 4 fields and save it? - xEdelweiss
  • Stop. What kind of connection is it? If the script is slowly working exactly in the network plan, then it is possible that the hoster has a more favorable position relative to the host to which your script is connected. Or it simply has a more powerful network infrastructure (optics, gigabits in the network hardware, etc.) - That is, in this case, the dependencies on computing power are less than on the network . - mega
  • No, everything works locally on the local computer, that's why the question is. Connect to the database. - xEdelweiss
  • one
DB is disks. At the hoster can stand some thread parallel SAN (Storage Area Network). Ie, again - accumulative power prevails. - There may be many options until the difference in the gland becomes known. - mega
  • Thanks for the answers, I'll try to find out what kind of iron is there. - xEdelweiss
