In Windows 7, fonts similar in name (the word “typeface” is not quite right here) are automatically grouped into fonts. A group of fonts can be opened by double clicking on its icon in the Fonts window of the Control Panel. It should be understood that the name of the style is often different from the name of the font file, and is located inside this file. Therefore, in the group of similar fonts there can be several fonts with the same names of faces, but with different file names. In this case, only the first one in the list of outline names always works. In addition, in Windows 7, some fonts are inactive (shaded gray), depending on the region settings.
Therefore, any way to install fonts in Windows 7 does not always lead to predictable results.
What you need to do:
- Understand groups of similar fonts and remove unnecessary fonts from there, or rename them with the same name (this can be done using FontManager programs).
- To enable all fonts, regardless of the region settings, in the left part of the Fonts window of the Control Panel, click the Font Parameters link, and in the window that opens, uncheck the option "Hide fonts based on current language settings"
