Question to linuksoidam!

Acer V3-551G , with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on board, the display on the laptop is dead, so I use third-party monics to work. Now I am not at home, and the monitor to which I connected has a resolution of 1280х1024 pixels, a laptop at the entrance of the user will show absolutely nothing on the second monitor, since it does not have the same resolution as the native monitor. You must be logged in so that I can continue to operate the equipment. Question, using Claudia, how to enter the user in the blind? Do not give the left advice, do not hammer in the topic, suddenly someone else will come in handy!

  • ctrl + alt + F1 if there is still nothing on the second monitor: login password apt-get -y install ssh /etc/init.d/ssh restart from the second machine connect via ssh and configure the second monitor. - zb '

By default, when downloading this version of Ubuntu, the cursor is automatically set in the password field - enter the password and here you have access to the system. If there are several users, the cursor is automatically placed in the password entry field of the last user logged in.

In your place I would have already decided the issue of transferring data to another hardware, because working like this is masochism.

Another option is remote control of the built-in tools of this system (VNC, ssh).

If you connect another monitor, it should work even if it has a different resolution than the standard one. The problem is not in it, maybe something is not working.
