I need to install Windows ХР on removable media (any) so that you can work with it normally: install and uninstall programs, update antivirus, etc. It is supposed to work on the same motherboard, compatibility with other MBs is not of interest. Is it possible, and if "Yes", how? On the Internet I found only "Live-CD" or installation (to install the system on the HDD).

quite easy to install http://flashboot.ru/index.php?name=News&op=article&sid=8
I set it myself, but withstands about 20 downloads because of the fat32 glitchiness, the flash drive itself died a year later, it was not designed for such activity
- Thank! Saw this page, but did not try. With this option, the installation REALLY saves the changes? God bless her with a flash drive! - MichaelJ

If the mother supports loading Windows from the carrier then there is a chance to install it. But! Is there any sense of this crap if reading data from the media is not opretivnoy!?
- Sorry, I am not a pro - what does it mean, “uncritical” did not understand ... Apparently, due to the speed of work? Mother supports external loading, but the point is that my work doesn’t encourage the programs installed by the non-sysadmin, and going to the NET is generally a crime! Even the traces of "flash drives" have to be removed, so as not to run! In such conditions, you understand, you can sacrifice speed ... - MikhailJ
