Good day, tell me, please, is it possible to get Chrome to obey? :)

It works everywhere, but Chrome for some reason flattens on the left and simply ignores the text-align for the option tag , googling did not do any good ... I never ask without trying to figure it out myself, of course, not a deadly problem, but nonetheless.

PS: I am ready to consider options for javascript solutions, of course, if any.

  • Or maybe it depends on the Doctype? - deamondz
  • You yourself think - in FF it works, if I wouldn’t register something wrong, it would not work anywhere, I would describe the less tolerable solution to this problem below. Yes - it’s dancing with a tambourine, but we’re not used to web developers : D <br> If someone has better options, I’m happy to read it <br> <br> Note - Chrome is not IE, DOCTYPE doesn’t carry this importance - Zowie

There is no such property for options. As an option, make a custom select divs, but this is a terrible crutch.

  • If there is no such property, why, for example, in FF everything is ok? Actually, it doesn’t matter, I’m not so fundamentally, just, so to speak. of sports interest ... - Zowie
  • The set of styles allowed for option is very limited, this is a specification. - deamondz

There is no need to invent a crutch on divas, despite the fact that text-align does not work, padding works, respectively, using JS, you can calculate padding to center each option element.

PS: Specification specification, and centering can be achieved, IMHO the option I described above is the best solution to this problem. And often the length of the options is about the same, which allows you to simply choose the appropriate padding in the styles ...
