There is a SanDisk Cruzer Blade 16gb flash drive. During the recording of not large files ~ 1gb in size, there are no problems, but as soon as you try to throw a file onto it, the trouble starts - the recording hangs for 20 seconds with a certain periodicity: that is, if we have a 5gb movie, then the recording will hang on ~ 1 - 1.5gb, ~ 3 - 3.5gb and ~ 5gb. When watching such a movie on TV, the recording on these "hung" moments breaks off, and to look further we have to waste this moment. When you try to download a file to this flash drive torrent, it just hangs. Who can tell what this problem may be connected with?

Similar problems arose with the usual external mechanical hard, strapped on USB 2.0. Large files (several gigabytes, 5-6 approximately) were cut just when copying with Venda. Healed the transition to Firewire, and then to USB 3.0. There is the impression that this is precisely because of USB 2.0. Try playing in the BIOS settings with USB 2.0 speeds. But it did not help me.

    • The fact is that previously there was no such problem. There was an external screw, used for the same purposes, literally half a year ago, these problems started, there were many broken sectors on the screw. I decided not to suffer, I bought a flash drive, the problem remained. - vadaboom
    • I unscrewed the speed to maximum in BIOS, turned off some kind of non-mount mode, put a 6.3GB movie torrent, and hung up 24%. More in the BIOS no options regarding yusb was not. And as I said before - there were no such problems, they must have appeared for some reason. - vadaboom

Still, the problem was in caching. I do not know how and why, but with her. Since Windows does not know how to completely disable the cache, installed Total Commander, in the settings of the file operation I chose the mode of working with large files (the cache is not used) and it all worked. Files fly slowly, but reach the address, also in total there is an excellent file checking function to be sure of the recording. So, once again, I’m convinced that windows doesn’t work very well with files ... - vadaboom
    • Thank! I also thought all the time that it was a Vendian cache, but the chef decided to just buy a new piece of metal, and then I didn’t dig further. - Anton Reshin
    • you can do the same in FAR: disable the "system copy function" - Justicet
