Which is better for a big project - yii or laravel?

I know kohana.

The choice of framework for the new project is entrusted to me.

After my start, other programmers will refine the project.

I do not want to be mistaken with the choice.

What framework would it be easier to work with as a team?

The code will be very, very much.

The project is huge.

Caching, optimization in the foreground.

Began to learn yii1. and somehow I do not like it, it does not go.

I understand everything, and the structure too, but somehow everything is complicated, or am I wrong?

In general, we need advice on the example of personal experience.

I have a week time.

After Kohana went into oblivion, I also wondered. But after Yii is a feeling of some kind of inferiority. Laravel is very convenient and understandable. The difference, as between NetBeans and phpStorm , is in the details. No arguments, so leave a comment. You have to try it yourself. - xEdelweiss pm
  • At Laravel, so far only two projects are being done, and there is no reason not to recommend it, only advantages. With Yii, only a little understood, like you, "did not go." In general, the subjective +1 for Laravel. - Sergiks

I just remind you that Yii2 is not yet stable. Choose what you know best. - VasyOk

@fjghkjg, your “week” of choice has passed long ago. Tell us what the choice is and how is it going? - Sergiks

My choice fell on Laravel. Very convenient framework. I enjoy working with him.

My choice fell on hate. Very comfortable emotion. I hate working with Yii, CI, Kohana, Yii2, Opencart, Wordpress, Laravel and other incredible handicrafts of modern times. - etki

Is Kohana so bad that you just need to write bikes on a new framework? Big important projects write on what they know well. If you do not know anything - take fashionable Laravel, a couple of years it will be in trend.

A symfony2 you are not considering?
I think it is best to ask programmers who will refine the project, which framework suits them best.

It's not so simple, I write on kohana (which has its own surprises), because it is light and simple.

But instead of picking Laravel or Yii2, take Symfony2, as this is the only correct option for a large project, I think many will agree with me.

Not the only one entrusted. There is a Zend Framework 2! - Oleg Abrazhayev

I had an incredibly short acquaintance with Laravel, but he managed to get bored with his advertisements literally, lack of namespaces and endless anonymous functions and static calls where they are not needed, so I wouldn’t choose from these two. “Hugeness”, however, almost automatically bans Yii 1.x and implies Symfony or Zend (the latter did not touch, but it is also recommended for large solutions).

but how is everything complicated done, or am I wrong?

In Yii 1, it's never been difficult at all.

Yii2 - This is only for small and medium-sized projects. It is monolithic. And very poorly expandable.

Symfony2 is only for medium and large projects. Although now there is a microkernel mode. I have not tried it yet.

Laravel 5 - This is for small, medium and medium-large projects. Good extensibility, great intuitiveness and everything that the PHP world can offer and is associated with.

If you are not planning an application of extremely large scale, I would choose Laravel 5. It will cover most of the tasks. For the rest it can be expanded. :)
