Established qt creator under Windows with base on QT 4.8.2. I downloaded the book Blanchett, Summerfield "QT4 GUI programming in C ++" (2ed) and now I realized that the architecture described in the book is different from my version of QT. How to start learning QT correctly so that it is easy and without consequences? And immediately, please send only to the Russian docks.

    First, you should still use not the newer 4.8, but the newer branch 5. * (it’s already 2), in particular, qml is the main GUI framework, not qwidgets. Well, maybe not the main one, but in 4 it was qwidgets + that appeared in recent versions qml, while the ports qt on mobile devices worked with qwidgets with creaks. As for the books, I don’t even know - I once taught from the book of Schlee that it’s simple, but I only had to put the concept of qt in my head (signals-slots, mock objects, etc.), but it’s also 4.8, there is I do not even know the books by 5

    Well, QT is still basically QuickTime, and the library is usually written qt

    • the fact of the matter is that my car is old and pulls only windows xp, and I found only this normally working build Qt + Qt creator, but thanks for the answer - perfect
    • not qt, but Qt. - KoVadim
    • thanks for the amendment @KoVadim - perfect
    • I and qt saw somewhere on their site, but I will not argue. The main thing is not QT - aknew

    There is a book:

    Шлее М. - Профессиональное программирование на C++. Qt 4.8

    Just under your version, if you do not find it, I can post it in the evening.

    • @mks thanks, I already read it. - perfect
