I was engaged in sites for a long time, then it was necessary to enter keywords so that pages were indexed by robots. And after that, things were not so simple with indexing (well, at least it seemed to me so). But now it seems like 5-7 years. I would like to know if you need to do something special with the site now, after the finished design and filling it with content?

In Google, I do not even know how to drive. All describe the creation of a website or SEO and how it is blurry, in general about these keywords. Someone writes "must", someone writes that they are already ignored and robots analyze the content. In general, I'm a little confused.

Meta keywords are not needed .

All modern search engines ignore this tag. On the contrary, it’s harmful to use meta keywords because you are burning competitors with the words on which you optimize the site. Some search engines may use keywords, if you include absolutely unique words there, the keywords do not participate in the ranking anyway. Some search engines use keywords to check for spam.

Delete and never remember about them again.

As for the meta-information, microformats have emerged and are actively developing over the last "5-7 years". For example, you can specify an address on a page so that it can be algorithmically easily parsed. There are microformats for articles, schedules, products, ratings, etc. The use of microformats can lead to the fact that the result will be beautifully displayed on the search page. You can add to the page information about how to display it when "sharing", etc.

In general, look towards the placement on the page of useful information (text, microformats), and not useless (keywords).
