My characters disappear when I set the shape type animation. Symbols created like "as a movie clip." And it turns out that only characters remain in key frames. Those. Such a picture is approximately:

And only where the asterisks are symbols, and where the dashes symbols disappear. Tell me, please, what's the mistake?

Animation SHAPE does not involve working with characters. For this more suitable Motion Tween. If you still want to animate the shape (shape), then either do not convert anything into symbols, or if the symbols are needed for other purposes - use the Shape animation inside the symbol. In the latter case, the symbols, with animation inside, can then be animated again, creating for them, for example, a motion tween animation. ;)
