Recently moved to Fedora 22 with kde, and faced with the fact that the icons of running applications do not appear in the tray (skype / dropbox / etc). Under ubuntu with unity, there was a package that solved this problem for skype - skype-wrapper, but for fedora and kde did not find a solution, on this question: how to make sure that the icons of programs running in the background are displayed in the tray?

Try to put the sni-qt:i386 package, or sni-qt:i686 . I have this package fixed a problem in Debian sid, KDE 5 .

here and here they write that the problem is in some kind of task manager ( system monitor ?) and if you replace it with another one, then icons for incorrectly packaged programs will appear.
