I create a project in Android Studio - Blank Activity . By default, activit is inherited from ActionBarActivity and ActionBar is, if inherited from Activity or FragmentActivity , then ActionBar not.

What is the problem? This was not the case in Eclipse.

    If you use the theme not of AppCompat , but of any Holo , then you will be an action bar if you inherit from Activity or even FragmentActivity .
    Just ADT for Eclipse apparently has not been updated for a long time and knows about the least material Design.

    PS: I must say that in our time ActionBarActivity hopelessly outdated, instead of it, it is fashionable to use AppCompatActivity , which the IDE should have told you about.
