After installing nvidia-glx (driver), cinnamon works in standby mode (black screen, there is a message about restarting and only the context menu works. I launch nemo and the browser through the console. They work but without the closing crosses, themes and panels from Cinn. No). Lightdm works fine. I installed the driver in * .run format instead of the glx package, but nothing has changed. Nvidia GT 620M graphics card. There is also a built-in graphics from intel. Restarting cinnamon and deleting settings from the home folder does not help.

you must either solve the problem with kms , which is written in the log ( (EE) [drm] KMS not enabled ), or use the free implementation of the driver for nvidia video cards called nouveau (everything you need is in the repository).
