In modern universities there are such areas as "информационная безопасность" and "информационная безопасность в экономике" . "информационная безопасность в экономике" If the first is a more general direction of training, focused on a wide range, then the second direction is focused, rather, on security in the banking sector, in the field of finance (something like that).

Could you explain on the fingers what fundamental and conceptual differences exist between these two areas in modern higher educational institutions? What are the advantages of one over the other, if any? And can a person who has learned the second direction (“information security in the economic sphere”) deal with information security in the broad sense of the word?

PS It is worth noting that I do not mean the possibility of obtaining more close to life knowledge from one of these areas - in the end, it all comes down to personal enthusiasm. Therefore, I am only interested in the question of possible restrictions on the "level of the employer" that apply to those who were preparing in the direction of "information security in the economic sphere"

  • @typemoon, just to ensure that such comments do not pop up, I highlighted a whole last paragraph. I mean, with the receipt of practical knowledge in modern universities and so everything is clear ... if you are enthusiastic, the university will not teach you a lot. - AseN

In order to at least partially answer this question you need to look at the curriculum of each specialty. One thing I can say for sure, it is extremely risky to choose a specialty based only on the prospects for future employment after university. In 4 years (especially in 6 years), much can change. - Streletz

In the current setting, this question has no answer.

In order to at least partially answer this question you need to look:

  • curriculum of each specialty
  • quality of teaching in the university
  • faculty of the university
  • specific employers

And already in the context of "can a person who has learned the second direction .." - in general, everything depends on you personally.

For any direction there is an educational standard (GEF VPO), which describes the knowledge and skills that you will need to have at the end of the educational program. This list has only one standard, it is информационная безопасность ( specialty description ), there is no standard for информационная безопасность в экономике .

This means that this is not a specialty as such, but a training profile. In practice, the university will sacrifice some optional lists of knowledge (which is optional) in favor of others. In this case, economic sciences will be added: economics, accounting, etc. etc.

In general, each university must provide a publicly accessible curriculum, which you can look at on the website and determine how one description differs from another.
