I have windows-7 x64 . Assembly.

I need to install Microsoft visual studio 2015 (well, in addition to IE10, because the installer asks him very much).

But for VS 2015 to work correctly (as I understand it .. but this is not a fact) Microsoft needs to make some updates. These same updates immediately after installing VS - Windows restarts itself downloads and installs (apparently it is registered in the installer)

But, unfortunately, after these updates, many programs stop working. They give an error 0xc0000005 and a similar type. Do not start.

In the internet, the solution to this problem is only one - roll back the system.

As a result, a vicious circle. Need VS - it climbs for updates - kills other programs. Demolition update - everything works - but VS does not work

Question: is it possible to somehow still put this VS without updates that kill the system? For example? find out what specific update this can do and specifically demolish it, while leaving VS working.

Or without the demolition of Windows with the initial roll forward update is not enough?

Programs should work despite updates. If the program after the upgrade does not work - this is its bug. As a desktop, put one on VirtualPC or equivalent. - VladD

@ bukashka101 a lot of them. total commander, live reload, firewood, cubase, etc. But as they say on the internet, 32-bit programs crash, for some reason - Alexey Shimansky
  • @Alexey Shimansky, I answered the question about both programs and Visual Studio. - user189127
  • @VladD it may also be a framework bug. Somewhere on HabrĂ© there was an article that described how installing .NET 4.6 breaks down the work of all applications on .NET 4.5. This error has long been fixed (hopefully) - but such an opportunity still exists. So the statement “programs should work despite updates” is incorrect. - Pavel Mayorov 5:59 pm

I’m forced to upset you, but you’re unlikely to install Visual Studio 2015 without dancing with a tambourine. Visual Studio 2015 is correctly installed starting from Windows 8.1 (looked in the system requirements) , except for Visual Studio Express .

For you there are two solutions to the problem:

  1. Install an older version (to be honest, I did not notice the differences).
  2. You download a clean Windows 10 (preferably an ISO image from the Microsoft site), install all the formatting completely, since installing / updating over Windows 7 with data preservation is fraught with errors, and then you put Visual Studio 2015 on it.
  3. Put Visual Studio Express. The functionality is trimmed (but, again, I did not notice), but it works on Windows 7.

PS It is better to install Windows 10, since many programs are "disconnected" by Microsoft from Windows 7 and redone for Windows 10.

And the errors are most likely because you are disconnecting support for x32 bit applications (I don’t know why, but I had such garbage on broken Windows 7 and only the demolition of updates helped). With this help here

Similarly, put windows 10, how did you previously live without ads in the Start menu. - Nick Volynkin ♦

@NickVolynkin, if you have not used Windows 10 - no need to tell here that it is bad. I have 10k and no advertising, everything works well and faster than on Win 7. - user189127

I ran into this problem after my Windows 7 x64 was covered for other reasons. I worked on Visual Studio 2013. I did not update the old version to the 2015 level, but just installed Visual Studio Comunity 2015 next to it. As a result, this is how it works now on the laptop. An error does not occur. I cannot vouch for the stable operation of the system, but as a solution it is possible.

  • So I did not update the old version, I tried to install 2015, which in turn required some system updates, which in turn broke 64-bit programs. So nothing helped. You seem somehow lucky.) - Alexey Shimansky
  • I was prompted) the fact is that I have an AMD processor on my laptop and some installations were not required for the operation of OS Windows 7 x64 SP1. - Darien Fawkes
