In general, things are like this:

I participate in the development of the site using applets.

Environment:

  • Internet Explorer 11 (office insists)
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise x64
  • jdk 8.65
  • domain system with a wide range of various security policies

I work with the applet itself not so often, but I have to do it once or twice a week (as the map will lay down). So, during the last week I stopped loading applets.

I want to immediately draw attention to the fact that I DON'T KNOW WHEN OR AFTER WHAT they stopped loading, since I said that I didn’t work with them often. In order to clarify the situation a little bit I will explain what it means that the phrase is not loaded .

My virtual machine process does not rise, the console window does not appear (the permanent display is checked), the applet launch confirmation window does not pop up, etc. The problem looks exactly as it sounds. Applets are simply not loaded on more than one site (even java.com).

Now there are two such companies. Among themselves are not related. Google is the second day, but nothing helps. I am an ordinary programmer in this office, and I don’t have any access to BP, GP and other exotic animals.

From checked and done:

  • IE has java script enabled
  • I cleaned the cache in Java Configuration (and turned it off altogether)
  • In java configuration settings reset
  • In Java Configuration in the list of trusted sites and files added
  • In Java Configuration, tick Enable Java content in browser is checked.
  • In IE, I cleaned the cache, reset the settings, reset the settings for the zones too.
  • jdk reinstalled (4 times: 8.65, 7.79, 8.60, 8.65)
  • The computer rebooted many times
  • Another user with equal and different rights (domain system) on my computer - does not work
  • My user is on another computer - everything works

Everything was checked on the same revision of the same project.

Help guys please. I really do not want to resort to reinstalling the system.

  • In our office the same nonsense is going on. And it is in the KB updates ... The version of IE is the same everywhere, and the versions of its updates are different. For some work on what is not. - Vard32

The second time there was a similar problem.

This time the reason was faster.

It stopped working after reinstalling Java (it was necessary to remove and check the operation of the website without Java). When put back - applets do not work

3 days picking, until I noticed that the bit width of the Java plug-in installed in IE is x64 , and the browser has x32 ( for some reason, the computer did not have x64 IE o_O )

Replaced JRE x64 with JRE x32 - Earned

Since we have a centralized software update, it is quite possible that it was the last time that fixed everything (the centralized Java update was sent by the JRE x32 ), and the updates had nothing to do with

The problem was solved also not expectedly as it appeared.

This morning, updates for Windows 7 were installed. Not exactly sure, but it looks like they helped me.
