I have php installed, I want to install the redis extension. Which folder should I install it in?

  • Mdaaa .... What OS do you have? Are we talking about a php / pecl extension or a wrapper library, for example, predis ? - romeo
  • I have windows, I need to install the extension github.com/MSOpenTech/redis/releases - hik
  • This is not an extension, it is a Redis Server implementation for Windows, and only the 2.8 version, i.e. without Redis Cluster . In addition, for php, you need to install a special extension about which I wrote above. I cannot help with Windows and I will not even try. The fact is that today you need redis, tomorrow memcached, and the day after tomorrow Sphinx Search or another service / extension for which win support may be weak or not at all. Kohl you already thought to use redis + php, it is strange that it is not yet on Linux. Likely, use any OpenServer or Denwer. - romeo

You surely wait, maybe someone will answer, but I doubt it. I recommend using virtualization, for example, free VirtualBox , or there is WUBI for ubuntu. And already there is "no grass to grow": apt-get install -y redis-server php5-redis , or if you don’t want to overlook your host machine, you can use my docker container for Redis: docker run --name redis -d -p 6379:6379 romeoz/docker-redis:2.8 - romeo
