After the next update Notepad ++ there was an incomprehensible glitch. Previously, when you save the file "Save As" and select "File Type", for example example

An extension was automatically added, for example, "filename.html", now it is necessary to prescribe manually. Can this be fixed somehow?

  • I think you need to write about this on the page or mail support Notepad ++. Somewhere here: notepad-plus-plus.org/community/category/4/help-wanted - Nick Volynkin
  • And we can hardly help with this, it's just a feature of the application. You can roll back the version, there versions of the last 7 are available. - Nick Volynkin
  • put sublime text 3 and get a bunch of plugins in addition - BOPOH
  • If you are given an exhaustive answer, mark it as correct (a daw opposite the selected answer). - Nicolas Chabanovsky
  • Before you are going to write, you expose the necessary syntax, and then when you save, the necessary extension is automatically substituted. - Andrey

Check the "Hide extension for registered file types" checkbox. To get into it, for example, from W7, you can through any Explorer window - "Arrange" - "Folder and search options" - "View".

In earlier versions, in 6.8.3, for example, autosave of a new file goes to .txt; in newer versions, the file does not receive extensions (All types) by default.
