The problem is related to the peculiarity of the Windows operating system with the current directory. The thing is that in Windows there is not only the notion of "current directory", but also "current directory of the disk." For each disc, it is its own. The cd changes the current disk directory , i.e. if the current directory is D:\ , then the cd C:\ will simply change the current directory of the C: drive , but the current directory (displayed on the command line) will remain unchanged. To switch to another drive, you will need to enter its name ( C: in this case.
