How to close the application? When you click on the cross, he just leaves, but does not close. And by clicking on the icon of the application that is displayed in the Dock, it no longer opens, which means it has already been deleted from memory. And you can close it only with PKM -> "Finish". How to make it close entirely by pressing the cross?

I understand the question is still not related to programming, it is a question of how applications are closed in Mac OS. Indeed, most applications do not close by clicking on the cross (but there are exceptions, such as the app store). You are right, the applications do not completely close by clicking on the cross, either you need to perform this right click and click finish, or in the application itself, click on the top bar of the application name, and select the last item "Quit App", then it will completely close, and if it is not fixed in the Dock, then it will disappear from there altogether, or if it is fixed, the small circle under the icon will disappear. I hope that I answered your question correctly, because the tags are not the ones, but if not, then tell me, I will delete the question.
- In general, you understood me correctly. And they answered one question about closing. But there was another question. When you click on the cross, the application closes only the window, and in the Dock it remains with a round under it. Clicking on this icon the window does not open again, how to make it start to open? Or turn around? - JoMax
- @JoMax most likely it depends on the program, but in general, left click is enough, and the program will start again. - Ilya Tereznikov
- Ilya Terezniki, I thought also. Maybe somewhere I missed a tick. It does not open for me (((I will understand. - JoMax
In the terminal, we write sudo killall application name
