I recently made an extension for chrome for myself and decided to put it into the store. The extension is not difficult, the usual password generator on js, inserting passwords into the fields + adding some buttons to the page. There are no ajax requests.

Some time after the addition, the extension was deleted from the store and a letter was sent to the post office that there is some hidden code in the extension (when adding the extension, the developer sends an archive with files with code). What is the hidden code and where they found it, I did not understand ...

Added the extension again without changing anything, after a while it was confirmed. 2 weeks extension hung in the store, installed it only 3 people. Today they sent a letter that the developer account is banned. No explanation, no reason ... Just banned.

Why can Google just ban it? If necessary, the extension itself can be put here.

I vote for closing this question as not relevant, because only Google knows the answer to this question. - user194374

This is offtopic. It discusses how to program correctly, and not the reasons for Google’s ban. - VladD

@Sergiks: Well, this can be summarized to “how to program the operating system correctly, so that it is better than Linux” or there “how to make a lab, the text of the task is attached”. - VladD

@Sergiks: If you even consider the question to be a totopic, where is the code? Based on what should we answer? A similar programming question would be “I wrote a program, but it crashes, where can there be a mistake?”. - VladD

You probably violated the Program Policies or Developer Agreement .

You can try to restore your rights if you are sure that you are banned for nothing.

I guess , with a finger to the sky, that they were banned for re-sending the uncorrected code.

Was there an obfuscated / unreadable code in the extension? (what they called the "hidden code") This could have caused suspicion of password theft. In the Content Policies section, see the last two promotions:

Malicious Products: destructive nature. Google or any third-parties. Spyware, malicious scripts, and phishing scams are not allowed in the Chrome Web Store.

Where possible, make it up. It can be suspicious, we can remove it.

  • Thank you for the answer. There is a file jquery.min.js, completely copied from the official site. It's all 4 lines, kind of unreadable ... - Dev

Theoretically, a villain could also place his bookmarks among the jQuery code. Maybe it was worth bringing a non-minded version of the library, or taking jQuery from Google CDN? I do not know for sure, just guess. - Sergiks
