Good day! I am studying java and I am interested in the issue related to applications. Now, of course, I am writing all the simplest. And I have a question: How soon can I go to the development of non-console applications? So that they are read on the phone or on any emulator. Can I start now? Or is it better to learn more? There are, for example, Sony Ericsson w810i and HTC Wildfire. I’ll probablyn’t be asking about android because it’s kind of complicated there. But on the usual Sonya?

Learn the basics, but you can also write for phones in parallel, otherwise there may be some gaps and you will still have to go back and complete the training ...

I never codil for phones, but I think we should start by downloading j2me and hello world for phones. Java is the same everywhere, only the number (set) of packages is different. Also, download javadoc to have information about available classes.

    • Thank you, can I start at a very low level? Will it work out? - Yegor Eremin
    • Find a primitive GUI application on Swing and for the phone. I do not think that they will be very different in complexity. Well, the syntax is the same. Choose which you understand better, and start with it. The set of classes and packages (well, the functionality set) in j2me is very limited, so it will be easier to learn most of them. on the other hand, rather for all that most of the examples in the internet for phones are targeted to more experienced ones. Again, this is easy to verify experimentally (see the beginning of the comment) - jmu

With the approach I can not I can not worth learning anything at all. The main criteria should be "have desires" or "no desire" all the rest trivia

    • And then there is no question "I can or can not?". There is a question "Will I be able with my primitive knowledge?" Since I started, it means there is a desire :) - Egor Eremin
    • It’s true that you got different: I can, I can't ... Take it and do it. Not enough knowledge - learn. - skegg
    • @mikillskegg you see, you do not know how people whine. In any case, besides the "unnecessary text" there is a question. But I don’t need your assessment of my questions ... - Egor Eremin
    • If you do not need to evaluate my questions, then go to the forums where I am not. And here any participant can rate any question. Only a question I did not see. How can someone know what you can and what not? If you want to know - try it yourself. Take books, manuals, etc. and try. There will be a specific question - ask for health. And so ... - skegg
    • I do not need an assessment of my actions, to be more precise. Thanks for the answer. Further discussion is considered pointless. - Yegor Eremin
