How to reduce memory usage in iOS?

  • when you run the application in the Xcode 7.2 simulator, the starting load is about 30MB and then increases to 300MB.

  • looked in the instrument - there’s nothing really red about it.

  • in one place we managed to persuade to use the weak var , after which the load dropped to 170MB, i.e. Still, in memory, something extra was sitting.

  • more weak could not be applied - Xcode swears like Thread...

How can you dig deeper in this issue?

1) run the program on the device. The simulator can work with memory a little differently. 2) check the places where you manually create large view or load large pictures. Will there be an effect if you remove these places or change the size of the views / pictures?
