When you boot the computer, explorer does not start automatically, it has to be manually loaded each time through the Task Manager. And this is observed when loading in safe mode.

I tried after pressing F8 to select the item "Устранение неполадок" , but after selecting I get an error:

"0xc000000f boot device failed because this device is inaccessible."

On the laptop there is Windows 7 basic x64, to find some working image, to download recovery from it - also does not work, it displays an error about incompatibility of versions.

In almost all forums, when such an error occurs, it is advised to check the registry, or rather make sure that in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon in the Shell variable there is only explorer.exe and delete explorer.exe and iexplorer.exe in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\.

None of this worked. Checking AVZ also did not help ... If you have encountered a similar problem, please tell me how to solve it?

I vote for the closure of this issue as not relevant topic, because the question should be addressed to the appropriate technical support. - aleksandr barakin

SharpE or other alternative explorer.exe shell would not you like to try? - Sasha Chernykh
  • Thank you))) to be honest, I didn’t even think about them) - nita

I can offer 2 variants: 1. Add it to startup 2. Copy and replace your explorer.exe from the installation disk

manual

  • thanks) I tried the first option first) - nita
  • there are some small doubts about the second one .... after all, if explorer.exe was specifically damaged then it would not be possible to run it through the Task Manager or I don’t understand something? In any case, thank you for the idea) today I will definitely test) - nita
