    In IntelliJ IDEA, you can manage the state of all interface windows using the window state management tool (gear with arrow), which is located on the right side of the window title.

    In order to detach the window and make it independent you need to select the Windowed Mode

    • Floating Mode is the same as Windowed Mode , but the Windows icon of this separate window does not appear in the Windows taskbar.

    • Pinned Mode - the window remains visible when not active.
