Hello! Please, tell me please, is it necessary to first create a local area connection between the main and guest OS in VirtualBox to set up a shared folder? And if so, how to do it? Thank.

    For the operation of the shared folder, it is not important whether there is a network connection between the guest and the host system.

    1. Download and connect the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso add-on image as cdrom. Install the add-on in the guest system;

    2. In the virtual machine settings, specify the folder on the host system that you are going to connect and specify the name of the balls {share_name};

    3. Access to the folder in the guest system:

    (cmd)% \\ vboxsvr {share_name}

    To connect the folder {share_name} as disk x:

    (cmd)% net use x: \\ vboxsvr {share_name}
