Prompt please experienced people: what is generally better to write a site with an adaptive design to support phones and tablets or to write a mobile version of the site, I mean, for example, there is a http://test.ru site for desktop computers, and there is also an http: // m .test.ru . And when loading track the screen resolution and redirect where necessary. In css I have only the basics. It seems to me that it is easier to write a mobile version separately than adaptive, or am I mistaken ???

For me, adaptive is better. Yes, it can be more difficult to develop, but it is much easier to maintain, if you have one site and several versions, there will always be a chance that when you update the content, the versions will start to differ. To maintain one site, instead of two (if versions are added, three and further) is easier and less laborious. As a result, more time for initial development, less time for maintenance.
But there is a third option, you can see the option RESS, even more difficult to develop, but then the sheer joy of life.
I think that any option takes place, rather the choice should be made based on how much you need to spend on development and what the result should be and how to support it. For example, if support is not required at all, you can not waste time, and rivet several versions of the site, if the content is always served, then adaptive, and the best RESS, etc.
