I wanted to put some packages

sudo apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-lts-trusty xserver-xorg-lts-trusty libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-trusty

And so it knocks out:

Reading package lists ... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information ... Done
E: Unable to locate package linux-generic-lts-trusty
E: Unable to locate package xserver-xorg-lts-trusty
E: Unable to locate package libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-trusty

How to solve this problem?

Doesn't install only these packages or none at all? Most likely, the necessary repositories are not added. And if added, to update you need to run apt-get update. - maestro
  • @maestro only these are not set. before that did apt-get update . most likely it is not added the desired repository. maybe you know what you need? - SkiesX

Edit sources.list as indicated here: packages.ubuntu.com/en/precise/amd64/linux-generic-lts-trusty/… - maestro

As indicated in the description, for example, the linux-generic-lts-trusty package, you need to add something like this:

 deb http://mirror.yandex.ru/ubuntu precise-security main

in the /etc/apt/sources.list file.

then update the package lists:

 $ sudo apt-get update

and try installing again.

for the xserver-xorg-lts-trusty package, add something like this:

 deb http://mirror.yandex.ru/ubuntu trusty-updates main
