The guys actually question, there is a server unfortunately because of the platform I can not install ubuntu 14 cost by reading debian 7 amd64.

Immediately I say Turk in debian, I can still put a centOS there, I’m still a big blonde, it’s even harder, ubuntu isn’t just that and that's all.

uname -a

Linux 34612-dedic-admin 3.2.0-4-amd64 # 1 SMP Debian 3.2.78-1 x86_64 GNU / Linux

lsb_release -a

No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Debian Description: Debian GNU / Linux 7.10 (wheezy) Release: 7.10 Codename: wheezy

Problem: Debian is like Ubunt, everything is just there to install the packages I can and the repositories add and configure these servers that I described but I actually don’t know what repositories are needed in order to deliver the versions I need!

apt-get install apache2 puts apache2.22 I need 2.4, generally ideally I need:

apache 2.4

I tried to download the deb package but

dpkg -i apache2_2.4.20-1_amd64.deb

dpkg: regarding apache2_2.4.20-1_amd64.deb containing apache2, the pre-dependency problem: apache2 pre-depends on dpkg (> = 1.17.14) dpkg is installed, but is is version 1.16.17.

dpkg: error processing apache2_2.4.20-1_amd64.deb (--install): pre-dependency problem not encountered apache2 Errors were encountered while processing: apache2_2.4.20-1_amd64.deb

Sobstvenno swears that the version is not the same.

  • it is better to take out the question about the slow recording separately: it has nothing to do with the first two of the given ones. and the first two are probably better to post: separately about apache, separately about nginx. - aleksandr barakin
  • About the new versions: I think that the most reasonable way is to upgrade the system to the current stable version. Is the system currently being used for something? - aleksandr barakin
  • Thank you removed the questions that are of lower priority. But still, this is why I need debian 8 there is another system already, I don’t know it at all. You can learn but now the question is exactly such a debian 7 and apache 2.4 - binliz
  • yes the same system. Only versions of many programs (but not all) are newer. but if you do not want to update, then there are two ways out: 1. continue to search for packages compiled for your version of the distribution kit, 2. build by yourself. - aleksandr barakin
  • Clearly, then if you think the transition from 7 to 8 is appropriate, please write the benefit - the answer. I'll try to update everything now. I think you are right, I’ll get a performance and you’ll have a little more reputation :) - binliz

Try installing the correct package with gdebi . This is a program that resolves dependencies when installing a package.

completely remove the current apache packages:

sudo apt-get purge apache*

Update the list of packages:

 sudo apt-get update

Install gdebi:

 sudo apt-get install gdebi

Install the package you need:

 sudo gdebi apache2_2.4.20-1_amd64.deb
