There seem to be three options. If you just need to edit small sections of the text (for example, this is an English test and you need to insert the missing words / letters), then I would just add the usual input fields. But it is possible to fasten the scripts and, by clicking on a word with underscores / dots, show the input field. Also remember to process the tab correctly.
If the volume of the text is large and it is one piece, then no one waves to show the text, then tinymce with the necessary text, then the text again.
And the third option is to have a large text and to edit each paragraph you need to set your editing rights (a strange task, but anything can happen). In this case, the solution is not much different from the first case - each logical piece of text when you click on it is displayed in the editor. This all can be done very nicely and transparently. That is, it turns out such a "paragraph-oriented editor."
