I'm just a beginner system administrator, just learning. On the advice he worked only with the terminal, learned how to install a server, configure ftp to create hosts, and so on. Now I was puzzled by the web interface to manage the server, which one is better to deliver.

The interface decided to set for such tasks how to set up crowns, back up stopping and tracking of space. Can you please advise a newbie, or can the interface be completely unnecessary?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • from my experience in a large office, I can say that operation does not use any web panels, all through scripts and the console. for monitoring - zabbiks, some engineers for themselves put the graph. in addition, Apache is also not used. ps why I do not recommend the web panel: it relaxes, an additional breakpoint, it may happen that the panel will fall off, but there is no ssh-key, the password is forgotten and only to call DC. - strangeqargo
  • @strangeqargo ok, I understand, I will do everything manually. Through the terminal. - Anatoly

You can learn web dashboards, if end users have to customize something. but to depend on them - in no case - strangeqargo
