On the laptop, the mouse spontaneously turns off.

This happens both during operation and after the laptop exits from sleep mode. However, after restarting the mouse resumes operation The operating system is Ubuntu 14.04.

What could be the problem, and how to fix it?

  • you need to reboot - disconnect / connect the cable that the manipulator is connected to will probably be faster. - aleksandr barakin

@alexanderbarakin, if so done, even plug into other connectors - no result until the system is rebooted! - Maybe_V

open the terminal, write tail -f / var / log / syslog and work until the mouse falls off, then switch there and look at the errors, then google the error. you can try to put to sleep, wake the computer, but it will be harder for you to find the right error message - strangeqargo
  • On my riots and mouse-based (external, usb) it was sometimes restarted (rarely, 1 second was disabled). - handicraftsman

Thanks for the feedback, alexander barakin comment helped me solve the problem. I did it and the mouse works fine and never turned off!

It used to happen, the mouse wire broke and the mouse began to fail. You can check by temporarily connecting another mouse. Sometimes you can check the presence of her work on the glow of the sensor under the mouse.

    • the sensor works and the mouse too, connected to another computer - Maybe_V
    • 1. Suggested another mouse try. 2. Bend the wire at the base of the mouse, does the mouse not fall off? - dsnk
    • with any mouse is the same - Maybe_V
    • @Maybe_V So in your case, the problem is in the hardware of the computer or in the OS. - dsnk
