Ubuntu 14 with LAMP server is on my computer, the computer goes to the Internet through a router when WiFi is connected, I also have a second computer with Windows, it also goes to the Internet through the same router, but it is already connected to the router via a cord. When I go to my server on the second computer, everything works, ftp, ssh and phpmyadmin, in general, everything is gut.

Now I want to be able to connect to my server from the Internet.

How to implement this?

  • If there is a good manual I will be very grateful for the link to it. - Anatoly
  • The question has no (direct) relationship to your computers, but has a direct relationship to your Internet provider and your router. - aleksandr barakin
  • Start with a phone call to your Internet provider with the question: “How much will it cost you to allocate an external ip address?” - aleksandr barakin
  • @alexanderbarakin I understand it is necessary to do the forwarding of ports in the router - Anatoly
  • Yes, it is necessary to do so-called. port forwarding. The “manual” you requested is called the “instruction manual for your router.” look for it in the box from under the router or on the manufacturer's website. - aleksandr barakin

  1. You need an external ip-address (ipv4, of course), which can be provided by your internet provider. for free or for money.
  2. you need to configure your router so that it will redirect external calls to the ports you need (or generally all external calls) to that of your computers that will process these calls. See your router's instruction manual.
  3. As a rule, no configuration changes are required.
