I've been struggling with this problem for a week already: sendmail writes that everything has been sent successfully, but the message does not come to the box, that's what in the logs

Jun 26 19:38:41 server sm-mta [6139]: u5QGcflo006139: from =, size = 336, class = 0, nrcpts = 1, msgid = <201606261638.u5QGceek006138@server.Dlink>, proto = ESMTP, daemon = MTA-v4, relay = localhost [127.0.0.1]

Jun 26 19:38:41 server sendmail [6138]: u5QGceek006138: to= mail@gmail.com, ctladdr = www-data (33/33), delay = 00: 00: 01, xdelay = 00: 00: 00, mailer = relay, pri = 30115, relay = [127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn = 2.0.0, stat = Sent (u5QGcflo006139 Message accepted for delivery)

Maybe gmail itself does not miss? So why?

The problem is not solved, but the reason is clear. Put postfix , decided to send the letter, in logs:

connection timed out

Having checked a bit, I understood the reason: the provider blocks port 25 for outgoing connections, without it in any way.

  • relay = [127.0.0.1] - and what process does your 25th port on this ip address listen to? - aleksandr barakin
  • tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:25 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 0 29864 5770 / sendmail: MTA: - PrograMystic
  • i.e., you configured it so that the program sends itself the letters. probably not exactly what you need. I recommend to use some guidance. - aleksandr barakin
  • Alas, I didn’t find any guidance on this in Google :( - PrograMystic

I vote for the closure of this issue, as the problem is with the provider. - aleksandr barakin
