An explicit type cast is required.

 SyndEntry entry = (SyndEntry) itEntries.next();

    Perhaps the problem is incorrect work with HttpURLConnection . Try this:

     HttpURLConnection httpcon = (HttpURLConnection)url.openConnection(); httpcon.setRequestMethod("GET"); // Если нужен GET запрос httpcon.connect();
